Backup plan
Prepare a copy of the important data and check the ability to play it. Choose the situation you want to practice.
The selections remain temporary on this page. Checklist does not make copies or check your files.
First copy of important files
Start with the data that would be most difficult to recreate.
Selected steps: 0 of 6.
Find out which documents, photographs and other files are to be found in the copy.
Select a separate medium or copy service. The second folder on the same disk does not protect against disk failure.
When the copy is finished, disconnect the outer carrier and store it in a safe place.
Protect your account with the second ingredient. For an encrypted copy, take care to access the recovery key outside the main device.
Restore the selected file to a separate directory and see if it can be opened.
Match the copy frequency to how often important data changes. Also check the performance result.
All steps selected. This is your plan execution declaration; it does not confirm the correctness of the entire copy. Return to your restoration attempts after significant changes.
Phone data copy
Check the device copy range and prepare the account recovery separately.
Selected steps: 0 of 6.
In the device settings check which photos, contacts, settings and application data includes a copy.
Use the official Android or iPhone instructions. Wait for the ending and check the date of the last successful copy.
See how you can recover your copy service account after losing this phone. Prepare the available backup method.
A copy of the phone does not guarantee the recovery of each certificate. Check the 2FA application procedure and store the backup codes outside the phone.
Read the official data recovery procedure. Verify access to a copy of a photo or document in a separate location.
Control the date of the copy, the scope of the data and the messages about the lack of space. The settings and possibilities depend on the device and application.
All steps selected. This is your plan execution declaration; it does not confirm the correctness of the entire copy. Return to your restoration attempts after significant changes.
Attempt to recreate an existing copy
Check restoration before failure, on a secure data sample.
Selected steps: 0 of 6.
Check its date, range and storage site. Make sure you have the necessary access.
Select a representative file and separate destination directory. Keep current data while trying.
Use the copy tool manual. If the copy is encrypted, check access to the right key or password.
Check the content and the possibility of using the file in the appropriate application.
If you have the original, compare the content. The control sum can confirm the identity of bytes of a single file.
Compare check totals →Complete missing data or access. Set a date for the next attempt and keep a separate copy.
All steps selected. This is your plan execution declaration; it does not confirm the correctness of the entire copy. Return to your restoration attempts after significant changes.
